About the Guru
Vidushi Megha Malar Prabhakar
Vidushi Megha Malar Prabhakar is a Bharatanatyam artist, performer, and educator based in Calgary, with over 18 years of rigorous training in the Kalakshetra style.
A Doordarshan B-Grade artist, she has established herself as a performer of technical precision and expressive depth, presenting across prestigious cultural festivals and international platforms.
Her artistic journey includes a solo Arangetram (2020) and performances at renowned festivals such as Yuva Nrityotsava, Nritya Prathibotsava, Nritya Shankara, and Alva's Nudisiri Cultural Festival, along with extensive touring across India.
Internationally, she represented Indian classical dance as a performer with her guru and team at the Sarang Festival in South Korea, supported by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Driven by a deep commitment to preserving Bharatanatyam in its authentic form, she founded the academy to create a space rooted in tradition and discipline. Her vision is to nurture the next generation of dancers while fostering cultural connection and artistic identity within the community.

She has completed her Vidwat Examination (2024) and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Gold Medalist), reflecting both artistic and academic distinction.
With experience as both performer and former faculty at Gaana Nritya Academy, her teaching approach is deeply structured, immersive, and rooted in tradition, guiding students toward both technical mastery and artistic excellence.
